Mindfulness

Below is a list of some of the most internationally well-known and influential mindfulness teachers and writers. You can also find generously provided material from each one on their websites as well as on YouTube.

Dan Siegel is a psychiatrist and author who has focussed on bringing together the teachings with our current understandings of the human brain. His ideas and practices are great for adults and children. He has written books to understand how to parent with the developing brain of the child in mind.

Jon Kabat-Zinn is a Professor of Medicine who is often credited with bringing mindfulness into the mainstream of medicine and society. He founded the world-renowned Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Clinic which is still used today with groups across the world.

Thich Nhat Hanh is a Zen Master and global spiritual leader, poet and peace activist, revered throughout the world for his powerful teachings and bestselling writings on mindfulness and peace. His key teaching is that, through mindfulness, we can learn to live happily in the present moment - the only way to truly develop peace, both in one’s self and in the world.

Pema Chödrön is a leading exponent of teachings on meditation and how they apply to everyday life. She is widely known for her charming and down-to-earth interpretation of Tibetan Buddhism for Western audiences.
