Pain Management

The management of pain can be assisted through the use of techniques such as hypnosis, mindfulness and guided relaxation. The reduction of stress in and of itself can also help to reduce pain.

Additionally, when people have accidents or injuries, sometimes there are emotions in relation to the actual event or the people involved in the event. The information contained in these memories and the additional stress surrounding these events can also add to difficulties in recovery. In such cases, EMDR therapy can be extremely helpful in reprocessing these memories so that they no longer cause disturbance and therefore no longer impact recovery.
